Private Physiotherapy Service
I have developed a unique approach to treating children which is based on a combination of clinical experience and enhanced by academic training. It is called Evidence-based practical application. This approach is used within my physiotherapy practice.
Evidence-Based Practical Application
This approach can be used for assessing and
treating babies and children with cerebral palsy
and motor delay whatever the underlying problem and presentation. It offers a tailored assessment and bespoke treatment plan to meet the individual needs of the baby or child.
A better understanding of the effects of cerebral palsy allows a treatment plan that meets the specific needs of the child. The aim is that this can be carried out in the child’s home or nursery/school environment to help attain ongoing care and achieve their best potential.
To arrange an initial assessment or for an informal query please contact us.

Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT)
Constraint induced movement therapy is a treatment which has been developed when there is difficulty using one hand and arm compared to the other. In children this could be when they have had a stroke which results in hemiplegic cerebral palsy.
The child may find it difficult to learn skills with the affected arm and hand and therefore, choose not to use it. The treatment aims to offer intense training of the affected hand and arm by limiting use of the unaffected hand. I have done an extensive amount of clinical practice and completed a PhD about constraint induced movement therapy for pre-school children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.
If you are interested in this therapy for your child and would like more information then please do not hesitste to contact us.
About cerebral palsy (CP)
Cerebral Palsy is the name given to a condition which affects posture and movement and is the result of an incident that happened early in a child’s life. Often around the time that a baby is born. It is the most common cause of physical disability in children. However, from one child to the next the physical disability can be very different. It can be mild with only a part of the body affected or severe with the whole body affected. Also, cerebral palsy can lead to different types of impairment with muscles that are stiff with movements which are slow and laboured or the muscles may be floppy with uncontrolled and inconsistent movements.
E-BPA offers an individual assessment and treatment plan to meet the specific needs of your child. The assessment will identify what we need to work on and the treatment plan will aim to put this into practice. We know that the amount we do is important so if possible we like to extend this to home and nursery or school. To arrange an initial assessment or for an informal query please contact me.
